Boxfish Robotics at AMSA-NZMSS 2024
We’re excited to share that Boxfish Robotics team will be at the AMSA-NZMSS 2024 conference that will be held from September 15-20, 2024, in Hobart, Tasmania. This joint event between the Australian Marine Sciences Association (AMSA) and the New Zealand Marine Sciences Society (NZMSS) is a fantastic opportunity for marine scientists and enthusiasts to come together and focus on the sustainability.
The AMSA-NZMSS 2024 conference aims to bring together hundreds of marine scientists to connect, share knowledge, and contribute to the sustainability of our marine environment. It supports AMSA’s goal of increasing the capability, capacity, and geographic reach of Traditional Custodians in marine science. This year, the conference celebrates a special joint event with AMSA and NZMSS, providing a unique opportunity to build new friendships and collaborations, reunite and enjoy the natural beauty, fresh air, and many amazing activities prepared by organisers.
At this year conference, Boxfish Robotics will showcase our advanced Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) and a new class of hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), designed to enhance marine science research and environmental monitoring.
Our new class of hovering Boxfish AUVs enables the collection of information in ways that weren’t possible before. The Boxfish AUVs are equipped with production quality camera that can be positioned as needed and operate fully autonomously using waypoints. They are ideal for conducting photo or video surveys, reef and artificial reef monitoring and especially effective for revisiting the sites. With optional sensors onboard they also helpful in collecting environmental data, enhancing research and conservation efforts.
Boxfish ROVs have been on the market since 2018 and have undergone extensive fieldwork in the Arctic, Antarctic, and tropical islands with us and our customers. They offer great imaging capability of up to 8K full-frame resolution and operational capabilities with six degrees of freedom and deployment to up to 1,000m in a compact platform with a robust design. They are perfect for detailed image capturing with live feed, monitoring marine habitats, and collecting environmental data.
